The Taos County Firewise Network is helping neighborhoods help each other.

Taos County Firewise Network

The Taos County Firewise Network is made up of nationally recognized Firewise communities that have taken steps to reduce the risk of wildfire in their neighborhoods. These volunteer boards host annual wildfire awareness events, organize community cleanup and chipper days, provide education and outreach to homeowners about the benefits of creating defensible space, and apply for grants and other funding to support these efforts.

The Network encourages peer-to-peer learning among Firewise boards in order to share information, encourage best practices, and amplify the benefits of the Firewise program across Taos County.
